We are continuously willing to help, but we urge these four simple tips to review your furnace before giving us a call:
- Thermostat setting – The most essential job of a furnace is to make a comfy and cozy climate for your home. So when it begins snowing for good, make sure you’ve switched your thermostat over to ‘heat.’
- Furnace switch – Your furnace power is composed by a switch that looks like a regular light switch, and should be turned on. If it’s not on, flip it on and sit a few minutes. A majority of furnaces have a built-in time delay and your furnace won’t turn on instantly after shifting on the switch.
- Filter – Furnace filters are an essential part to your system. Not only does it filter out particles, dust and other contaminants, it impacts your furnace’s efficiency as well. We recommend changing out filters every three months to notice the finest results.
- Circuit breaker – It’s normal that the breaker designated for your furnace has been tripped. Go to your circuit breaker panel and check to see if the switch has been tripped. If it has, cycle it by turning it off and then back on. You may have to wait a few minutes for the time-delay to finish before your furnace kicks back on. If you do this and your furnace still isn’t starting, give us a call and we can help figure out what is happening with your furnace so we can get it back up and running.
