Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

August 20, 2016

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was honored to give 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.

“Last fall, I had the ability to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an unbelievable experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a crucial part of this community.”

Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent her younger years wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Minnie’s doesn’t just provide free, healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to use the food they are given to make nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume aid along with budgeting and job classes to help families get back on their feet.

Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.

“Each member of the team was so ecstatic that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even took us around their incredible facility,” Wilson said.
